November – November to me is the start of the holiday season. Decorating, time with family, special events.
This year I’m really not looking forward to the holidays. It will be the 1st of many holidays without either of my parents. And if any of you knew my Mom, the holidays were her time to shine. Decorating, meals, gift wrapping and socializing. Last year at Thanksgiving I still had hope, she had a great Thanksgiving and so enjoyed it but things change and sometimes not the way we want them to, so I go into this holiday season with the memories of her last Thanksgiving and how much she enjoyed it, and the small glimmer that she was finally on the way to recovery.
I have chosen Tiger’s Eye for November’s Stone of the Month. One of the many reasons is due to its protection abilities. For those of us that are sensitive to others it helps in blocking all those extra emotions.
Tigers Eye is a variety of quartz found in South Africa. It has an attractive golden-brown color and a silky luster, resembling the eye of a tiger.
Tiger’s Eye is associated with the solar plexus chakra as it helps to balance out emotions and bring clarity of thought. It can be used for protection, courage, willpower, insight, prosperity, integrity, and strength. It is also known for its emotional healing properties which help bring balance and stability into one’s life. Tiger’s Eye helps to release fear and anxiety while bringing courage, confidence, and clarity of thought during times of stress.
Tiger’s Eye can be cleansed and recharged in a number of ways. With regular use simply put your gemstone under some cool running water, the tap will do but a spring or waterfall is even better. Fresh rainfall would be a special treat for your Tiger’s Eye.
If your gemstone has been busy it might need a boost with a recharge. A day in the sun would do it and so would a night out under the full moon. For cloudy days and nights you could give your Tiger’s Eye a long soak in some salted water or smudge it by wafting some smoke from a stick of incense over the gemstone’s surface.
